expressive sound poem: "Dogs"
An expressive sound poem (ESP) is an integration activity for art, music, and literacy. We began the ESP project by writing a "Found Poem" using only words that were found in an article from our Writing class. After compiling our poem, we began thinking of how we could use art and music to convey or message to our audience. We incorporated art into our ESP through the background we designed for our performance. We created a park scene because it is a common place that you see humans and their dogs interacting. We incorporated painting and printing on our background. The final element of our ESP project was music. The songs we selected throughout our project convey certain emotions that we associate with being with our dogs. Enjoy!
